Job Description

Project Director leading mega-project execution, customer relationships, financial outcomes, and risk management for GE Vernova’s energy and infrastructure business.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the interconnected health of multiple projects across a portfolio
  • Balance resources, risks, and performance targets to drive aggregate business value
  • Define and iterate on long-term project strategies
  • Anticipate market, technical, and customer-driven challenges
  • Serve as the ultimate escalation point for cross-functional bottlenecks
  • Resolve high-complexity issues spanning engineering, manufacturing, and field execution
  • Align internal and external stakeholders toward a unified long-term vision
  • Develop executive customer relationships and drive cross-portfolio issue resolution, claims management, and project execution
  • Mentor high-potential Project Managers and functional leads
  • Provide feedback and career coaching to build a sustainable leadership pipeline
  • Champion continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and scalable best practices
  • Coach teams on influence without authority and soft-skill development
  • Foster psychological safety, emotional intelligence, team health, and resilience
  • Champion LEAN and Kaizen principles to optimize value streams
  • Optimize Estimates at Completion and Cost-to-Come projections
  • Lead margin maximization through control of cash, revenue, and invoicing cycles
  • Lead negotiations on complex change orders and vendor claims
  • Own the portfolio Risk & Opportunity register and quantify overall project risks
  • Enforce EHS and quality standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • 10+ years of experience leading mega-projects or complex portfolios within the Energy or large-scale infrastructure sectors
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business challenges into clear, actionable, and sustainable project strategies
  • Proven experience in developing talent, coaching project teams, and building a high-performance culture within a matrixed organization
  • Proven record of identifying systemic issues and implementing solutions across interdependent workstreams
  • Advanced ability to represent the organization at the C-Suite level, facilitate high-stakes negotiations, and manage sensitive customer communications
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
