Job Description
Psychotherapist providing LGBTQ+, relationship, and sexuality-focused care for G&STC, a New York group private practice. Conducting individual, couples, family, and group therapy remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Provide phone consultations
- Provide psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, partnerships with 3+ people, and families
- Maintain a full-time caseload of approximately 28–30 clients, with 25 completed sessions per week; smaller caseloads of 20–24 may be possible
- Maintain a part-time caseload of approximately 18 clients
- Maintain case notes, logs, and required documentation
- Provide group therapy as needed
- Write a blog four times per year optionally
- Participate in weekly/biweekly individual supervision and available weekly group clinical supervision
- Assist with creating and implementing G&STC workshops, training, and seminars
- Perform marketing tasks for self and G&STC as needed or interested
Requirements:
- Possess an LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-R, MHC, or LMHC and be licensed in New York
- Reside in NY or NJ
- Commit to a minimum of 3 years with G&STC
- Education, training, and demonstrated success implementing CBT, IFS, mindfulness treatments, trauma-informed practices, somatic treatments, and psychodynamic psychotherapy
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- At least 1 year of experience in assessment, treatment planning, and providing psychotherapy
- At least 1 year of experience providing individual, couples, multiple-partner relationships, and/or family therapy
- At least 1 year of experience providing therapy to LGBTQ+, kinky, and non-monogamous individuals
- At least 1 year of experience providing therapy for sexual-related issues such as sexual anxiety, sexual functioning, sexual pain, and compulsive sexual behaviors
- High level of competence with gender, sex, and sexuality, including expertise working with LGBTQ+ people, alternative sexualities, and sexual-related issues
- Organized and able to submit progress notes and respond to emails in a timely manner according to G&STC policies
- Submit both a cover letter and resume
- Therapists with their own private practices or working in another group practice will not be considered
