Job Description
Psychotherapist providing LGBTQ+, sexuality, relationship, and family therapy through New York-based G&STC. Building caseloads, documenting care, and participating in supervision and workshops.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct phone consultations
- Provide psychotherapy to individuals, couples, partnerships with 3+ people, and families
- Maintain a full-time caseload of approximately 28–30 clients, with 25 completed sessions per week; smaller caseloads of 20–24 may be possible
- Maintain a part-time caseload of approximately 18 clients
- Maintain case notes, logs, and all required documentation
- Provide group therapy as needed
- Write a blog four times per year, optionally
- Participate in weekly/biweekly individual supervision and available weekly group clinical supervision
- Assist in creating and implementing G&STC workshops, training, and seminars
- Perform marketing tasks for self and G&STC as needed or interested
Requirements:
- Possess an LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-R, MHC, or LMHC and be licensed in New York
- Resides in NY or NJ
- Commit to a minimum of 3 years with G&STC
- Education, training, and demonstrated success in implementing modalities, such as CBT, IFS, mindfulness treatments, trauma-informed practices, somatic treatments, and psychodynamic psychotherapy
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- At least 1 year of experience in assessment, treatment planning, and providing psychotherapy
- At least 1 year of experience in providing individual, couples, multiple-partner relationships, and/or family therapy
- At least 1 year of experience in providing therapy to LGBTQ+, kinky, and non-monogamous individuals
- At least 1 year of experience in providing therapy for sexual related issues such as sexual anxiety, sexual functioning, sexual pain compulsive sexual behaviors
- Must have a high level of competence with gender, sex, and sexuality, with expertise regarding LGBTQ+ people, alternative sexualities, and related sexual issues
- Organized and able to submit progress notes and respond to emails in a timely manner, in accordance with G&STC policies
- Cover letter and resume required
- Therapists with their own private practices or working in another group practice will not be considered
