Job Description

QA Automation Engineer ensuring quality and reliability in a serverless AWS payroll transformation platform. Design and maintain automated test frameworks with a remote team.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for services and APIs
  • Define and implement testing strategies for distributed, event-driven systems
  • Ensure high quality across services by covering functional, integration, and end-to-end testing
  • Validate event flows, data consistency, and system behaviour under failure scenarios
  • Work closely with engineers to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable releases
  • Improve observability and monitoring to proactively find issues in production
  • Advocate for best practices in testing, quality, and reliability across teams
  • Help mentor others and raise the bar for quality engineering

Requirements:

  • Experience in QA / SDET roles testing full stack applications
  • Strong experience with test automation (e.g. Playwright, Cypress, Jest, or similar)
  • Experience testing distributed or event-driven systems
  • Solid understanding of testing strategies (unit, integration, E2E, contract testing)
  • Familiarity with AWS environments and serverless architectures
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing in deployment workflows
  • Comfortable working with APIs, JSON, and data validation
  • Strong debugging skills and attention to detail
  • Nice to Have: Experience with performance or load testing tools
  • Experience testing data pipelines or analytics platforms
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (CDK, Terraform, or similar)
  • Experience with contract testing (e.g. Pact)
  • Exposure to frontend testing (React / Next.js)
  • Experience in multi-tenant SaaS platforms
