Job Description

Regional Service Manager leading field engineers supporting QuidelOrtho’s clinical laboratory and transfusion medicine diagnostics. Managing customer service, equipment implementations, maintenance, and regional sales support.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a technical service staff providing professional and technical support for Clinical Lab/Transfusion Medicine product sales
  • Interact directly with customers to evaluate satisfaction with field performance and strengthen customer relationships
  • Organize and communicate field issues to customers and appropriate QuidelOrtho divisions
  • Ensure customer feedback is acted upon and communicated
  • Integrate Ortho Care functions with Regional Sales goals in collaboration with local Sales management
  • Assess and communicate local activities supporting regional sales goals, customer retention/growth, and Sales-Ortho Care teamwork
  • Manage approximately 10+ Field Engineers and Senior Field Engineers
  • Provide performance feedback and ensure compliance with company and safety policies
  • Hire, train, and coach regional new hires
  • Coordinate service, maintenance, modifications, implementations, and equipment training
  • Work with Area Sales Directors to retain and grow business and develop strategies to meet or exceed objectives
  • Plan and execute regional activities aligned with divisional and company goals
  • Partner with Learning & Development to optimize productivity, develop the talent bench, and support organizational talent cross-pollination
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned
  • Maintain accessibility to customers and workgroups outside normal working hours

Requirements:

  • BA/BS Degree in Business Management, Science or Engineering or equivalent 10 years field service experience
  • 10+ years of direct experience in a field environment, supporting hardware, software, and/or applications at client sites
  • Proven track record in organizational development and field service management
  • Superior people management and people development skills
  • Marketing, Service Planning and Administration, Product Management or other equivalent experience
  • Advanced listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Must stay accessible at all times to customers, direct reports, management and related workgroups through company-provided phone and email
  • Travel approximately 75% of time, including weekends/nights, by plane and car
  • This position is not currently eligible for visa sponsorship
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license
  • Must own and maintain an automobile suitable for travel to customer sites and airports
  • Must be physically able to travel up to 75%
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work autonomously in a home office environment
  • Ability to meet specified vision, mobility, and physical demands
