Job Description
Risk Manager optimizing credit risk segmentation and policies for TD, a global financial institution. Analyzing data and advising Senior Management on credit strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the creation, implementation, and validation of risk segmentation strategies, including adjudication, account management, exposure management, risk segmentation, and financial return optimization
- Provide critical information, interpretation, detailed analysis, and credit risk strategies aligned with TD's risk appetite and governmental requirements
- Investigate, create, implement, and validate risk segmentation strategies and policies using complex data, advanced analytics, and business intelligence tools
- Demonstrate governance, control, and risk management behaviors aligned with TD policies and practices
- Lead or participate in new initiatives, workflow development, services/applications, operational efficiencies, special project teams, and cross-functional work groups
- Develop and enhance credit risk assessment capabilities for new and existing clients
- Perform detailed analysis and make recommendations to Senior Management on critical strategies and ad-hoc requests
- Create regular reports on implemented strategy results using quantitative methods and MIS
- Recommend ways to increase efficiency and revenue while managing credit risk
- Work cross-functionally with teams outside of risk
- Coordinate with Internal Audit and External Regulators to maintain complete, current process documentation
- Ensure sound credit control and proactive risk management within bank guidelines
- Communicate relevant issues promptly and maintain effective relationships with internal and external groups
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5+ years' experience required
- Proficient PC skills, including strong competency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with PC-based analytical and reporting software packages
- Experience with relational databases and Extract Transform Load (ETL) using SQL or SAS
- Familiarity with analytical or reporting tools such as SAS, R, Matlab, and Tableau
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in data modeling and risk management
- Background in business administration, statistics, mathematics, science, or finance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience developing and presenting recommendations to Senior Management
- Advanced experience in SQL, SAS, and Python preferred
- Credit Risk Management experience preferred
- Experience in modeling preferred
- Advanced data analytics experience preferred
- Cross-functional collaboration experience preferred
- Experience with AI preferred
- Master's degree in economics, finance, and/or statistics preferred
- Occasional domestic and international travel
