Job Description

Roadside technician diagnosing and repairing vehicles for Allianz Partners’ roadside assistance services. Managing customer recovery decisions and field operations from a fully equipped van.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend roadside assistance calls
  • Assess situations and diagnose faults using modern diagnostic tools
  • Repair vehicles at the scene wherever safe and possible
  • Decide whether repair or recovery is the safest option
  • Arrange professional recovery and dealer workshop attention when needed
  • Own each job end-to-end, communicating clearly with customers and providing reassurance
  • Operate and maintain a fully equipped van
  • Manage tools and parts
  • Follow safety procedures and keep accurate notes in company systems
  • Meet service, safety and quality standards while working efficiently toward achievable targets
  • Use AI, machine learning, data analytics and cloud-based tools responsibly and in line with data governance, security and ethical-use standards

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a vehicle or roadside technician who can work independently at the scene
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills with modern equipment
  • Confident, calm customer communication
  • Comfortable using IT, mobile apps and diagnostic software
  • Full UK driving licence and confidence driving a fully equipped van
  • Relevant technical qualifications, e.g. manufacturer apprenticeship or equivalent City & Guilds Parts I & II, NVQ/B-Tech diploma
  • Existing EV credentials are welcome; otherwise, completion of EV Level 3 IMI Accredited and ATA Level 3 roadside diagnostics training
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts between 7am and 10pm, including some weekends and Bank Holidays
  • Willingness to travel across Plymouth or Belfast and surrounding areas

  • Realistic OTE of £55,000; top performers earn north of £60,000

  • Average 42.75 hours per week between 7am and 10pm, Monday to Sunday
