Job Description
SAP Project Manager leading the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission’s enterprise-wide S/4HANA Wave 2 enhancement initiative. Coordinating vendors, budgets, governance, risks, and concurrent IT workstreams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate internal and external teams across multiple IT projects and workstreams
- Develop, maintain, and manage detailed integrated project plans, schedules, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, and critical paths
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, cost estimates, risks, issues, and change requests throughout the project lifecycle
- Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, including roles, responsibilities, escalation procedures, and decision-making processes
- Plan and optimize resource allocation, capacity planning, and resource forecasting
- Coordinate with business owners, technical teams, project sponsors, vendors, and system integrators to define requirements and align project objectives
- Manage project activities through initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure
- Oversee vendor performance and manage relationships with key technology partners across on-premises and cloud environments
- Coordinate dependencies and schedules across SAP/ERP initiatives and related enterprise systems
- Maintain project documentation, status reports, approvals, signoffs, and other required PMO artifacts
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify risks, bottlenecks, dependencies, and opportunities for corrective action
- Provide regular project updates, executive-level reporting, and presentations to stakeholders
- Facilitate project meetings, decision-making sessions, and stakeholder communications
- Conduct lessons-learned sessions and implement recommendations for continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with the PA Turnpike PMO Playbook, established project management standards, and applicable IT policies
- Lead a complex, enterprise-wide SAP S/4HANA enhancement initiative known as Wave 2
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of project management experience delivering IT projects of varying sizes and complexity
- Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-level projects involving scope, schedule, integration, communications, vendors, risks, and resources
- Hands-on experience managing SAP/ERP or enterprise business solutions projects
- Experience managing complex, high-profile vendors across cloud and on-premises environments
- Proven experience managing multi-year projects and multiple concurrent workstreams
- Expert-level proficiency in creating and maintaining integrated project plans using Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Project Online
- Strong understanding of project governance, budget management, cost estimation, risk mitigation, and resource capacity planning
- Excellent leadership, conflict resolution, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, documentation, and presentation skills
- Ability to coordinate effectively with executive leadership, business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and system integrators
- Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Preferred: Experience leading SAP S/4HANA implementation, enhancement, or transformation initiatives
- Preferred: Familiarity with SAP BTP, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Datasphere, and SAP SuccessFactors
- Preferred: Experience managing integrations across enterprise applications and third-party platforms
- Preferred: Experience working within a PMO framework and following formal project governance standards
- Preferred: Previous experience with public-sector organizations, transportation, infrastructure, or other complex enterprise environments
