Job Description
Scheduling Coordinator coordinating appointments, procedures, and diagnostic exams for Lehigh Valley Health Network. Managing patient information, insurance verification, referrals, and scheduling communications remotely in Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all patient scheduling activities, including appointments, procedures, and exams
- Facilitate communication between staff, referral sources, and physician offices regarding scheduling concerns and issues
- Collect clinical information, obtain insurance, and verify patient demographics
- Schedule patients for physician appointments and diagnostic test procedures
- Educate patients, families, and physician offices regarding protocols, procedures, insurance, referrals, and testing criteria
- Monitor practice protocols and department procedures and recommend improvements
- Utilize scheduling software and patient-specific software applications to facilitate patient access
- Serve as a resource for staff, physicians, and referring offices
- Reduce errors, rework, and defects through conscientious attention to detail
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 6 months medical office, call center or customer service oriented work experience, or completion of an Associate's Degree program or higher in lieu of work experience
- Ability to maintain strict level of confidentiality
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment while handling multiple responsibilities
- Detail-oriented with the ability to enter information accurately into electronic systems
- Demonstrates ability to handle stressful situations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarization with EMR and scheduling systems such as EPIC, PHS etc. (preferred)
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish (preferred)
- Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs.; frequent sitting/standing and keyboard use
