Job Description
Seasonal herd testing technician delivering equipment and collecting samples for LIC, a farmer-owned New Zealand dairy genetics and testing co-operative. Outdoor Hawera role supporting dairy farmers during a nine-month peak season.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver and install Herd Testing equipment in dairy sheds throughout the Hawera region using LIC vehicles
- Return the following day to collect completed samples and equipment
- Handle heavy equipment and manage a fast-paced seasonal workload
- Cover the seasonal peak for around 9 months
- Work outdoors in a farming environment with flexible working hours and locations within the Hawera region
Requirements:
- Ideally know your way around a milking shed
- Reasonable level of fitness and physical strength
- Clean full Class 1 driver's licence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, professional, and reliable
- Exceptional time management abilities
- Strong attention to detail
- Flexibility with working hours and locations within the Hawera region
- Tech-savvy with a 'can-do' attitude
