Job Description
Security Analyst protecting Peraton subsidiary systems through CDM security, vulnerability scanning, and FISMA controls. Managing risk assessments, audits, incident response, and security tooling.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze CMS and corporate security requirements to ensure policies, procedures, and deliverables are in place and timely
- Identify information security issues posing immediate risks and provide real-time alerts
- Manage IT security and risk and analyze security solutions using CDM tools and processes
- Verify and validate Tenable vulnerability scans and Gigamon network traffic aggregation
- Develop CDM-specific policies, procedures, guidelines, and staff training
- Execute CDM processes, procedures, and assessments and monitor deployed security tools
- Review access requests, recommend authorization, and audit access rights under HIPAA policies
- Conduct vulnerability testing and scans of FISMA-mapped assets within the SGSNet accreditation boundary
- Oversee and assist with configuration updates to CDM tools
- Operate Tenable, ForeScout CounterAct, and Gigamon to observe and analyze network vulnerabilities
- Configure and test application vulnerabilities
- Set up scans to detect malicious software and hardware in accordance with CDM HWAM and configuration management requirements
- Conduct security reviews and audits of existing and newly acquired systems
- Recommend improvements to internal controls and security
- Conduct annual information security risk assessments
- Facilitate response procedures for breaches and anomalies identified by CDM tools
- Complete statistical and status reports and provide timely, accurate responses
- Suggest configuration changes to server, network, client, and security devices
- Investigate root causes and assist in determining mitigation
- Interact with customers regarding business and technical IT needs
- Participate in implementations, upgrades, and conversion projects
- Manage projects within scope of responsibilities
Requirements:
- 0 years with BS/BA; 4 years with no degree
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Access, relational database design, data extraction and reporting, Excel, and Internet tools
- Ability to work with varied systems, data sources, detection, monitoring, and analytic tools
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Degree preferably in computer science or management information systems
- Experience with Tenable preferred
- Knowledge and support of IT networks
- Ability to serve as liaison for security-related audits, including FISMA and ACT
- Ability to coordinate security-related communications to SGS staff
- Ability to support and direct security-related questions from SGS employees
- Ability to maintain security-related reports and internal control evaluations
- Ability to monitor and review audit logs
- Ability to maintain and prepare security deliverables for CMS
- Ability to analyze security data to identify and compare norms, trends, and patterns
- Ability to present concerns citing regulatory, policy, or contractual violations
