Job Description
Senior Azure Engineer leading design, automation, and security of cloud solutions for GDIT. Enhancing DevSecOps and enabling AI initiatives in Microsoft Azure environments.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the engineering, deployment, and optimization of Azure cloud infrastructure across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services
- Support data scientists and AI teams in developing and operationalizing AI proof-of-concepts using Azure ML, Azure OpenAI, and Azure Databricks
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Bicep, ARM templates, and Terraform
- Migrate existing cloud resources into IaC frameworks, ensuring version control and automated testing
- Implement DevSecOps practices including automated security scanning and policy enforcement in CI/CD pipelines
- Engineer Azure compute, storage, networking, identity, AKS, monitoring, and governance components
- Integrate SaaS platforms securely with Azure, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments
- Produce architecture diagrams, engineering documentation, and technical recommendations
- Evaluate emerging Azure services and provide adoption guidance
- Contribute to cloud standards and modernization roadmaps
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree plus 10+ years of Azure cloud engineering experience
- Experience supporting AI/ML workloads, including Azure ML, Databricks, and model deployment pipelines
- Hands-on experience designing and securing Azure cloud environments at scale
- Strong knowledge of DevSecOps automation, CI/CD pipelines, and security-by-design principles
- Experience with IaC frameworks such as Bicep, ARM, or Terraform
- Understanding of multi-cloud concepts and AWS/GCP service equivalents
- Hands-on experience with Linux and Windows Server administration
- Hands-on scripting experience in PowerShell, Bash, and Python
- Hands-on experience with networking
- Experienced with containers and orchestration, including Docker and AKS
- At least one active Azure certification, including Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), Azure Administrator (AZ-104), and/or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)
