Job Description

Senior Rust Backend Engineer developing workflow automation for a US client’s production video analytics and edge computing platform. Improving integrations, architecture, concurrency, and reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new features for a workflow and automation engine written in Rust
  • Refactor existing components and contribute to architectural improvements
  • Work on integrations with backend services, APIs, a Django application, LLM-based services, and other platform components
  • Contribute to services involving asynchronous processing, concurrency, and distributed systems
  • Participate in technical discussions, solution design, planning, and code reviews
  • Collaborate closely with the existing engineering team through meetings, Slack, and day-to-day communication
  • Clarify requirements and propose solutions when tasks are not fully defined
  • Own work from initial discussion through implementation and delivery
  • Potentially contribute to other services or programming languages within the platform when needed
  • Help deliver roadmap initiatives and improve platform architecture and reliability

Requirements:

  • Strong professional experience in backend software development
  • Solid production experience working with Rust
  • Experience with asynchronous and concurrent programming
  • Understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, backend services, or workflow engines
  • Ability to work autonomously while requirements evolve
  • Active participation in meetings, technical discussions, and team decisions
  • Interest in working as an integrated team member rather than only through assigned tickets
  • English level B2 or higher, with ability to participate comfortably in meetings and technical conversations
  • Interest in learning and contributing to services written in programming languages other than Rust
