Job Description
Claims Specialist resolving high-complexity claims, ensuring timely and accurate resolution while collaborating with stakeholders. Working at Berkley Small Business Solutions, focused on small business insurance.
Responsibilities:
- Handle higher-complexity and severity claims, including litigation and coverage disputes
- Act with urgency in establishing contact with all parties and stakeholders
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure timely appraisal and evaluation of damages
- Analyze coverage by applying policy information to facts or allegations of each loss
- Maintain discipline in securing and updating information throughout the life of the claim
- Establish and maintain appropriate loss and expense reserves
- Investigate each claim through prompt and strategic contact with appropriate parties
- Evaluate, negotiate, and settle assigned claims within authority granted
- Develop litigation plan with defense or coverage counsel
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the claims process
Requirements:
- AIC, CPCU, or other industry designation preferred
- Complies with state adjuster licensing, where applicable, countrywide
- Minimum of 5 years of claim handling experience; trucking experience preferred
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Computer proficiency, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Demonstrated working knowledge of claim regulations and laws in applicable jurisdictions.
