Job Description

Claims Specialist resolving high-complexity claims, ensuring timely and accurate resolution while collaborating with stakeholders. Working at Berkley Small Business Solutions, focused on small business insurance.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle higher-complexity and severity claims, including litigation and coverage disputes
  • Act with urgency in establishing contact with all parties and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure timely appraisal and evaluation of damages
  • Analyze coverage by applying policy information to facts or allegations of each loss
  • Maintain discipline in securing and updating information throughout the life of the claim
  • Establish and maintain appropriate loss and expense reserves
  • Investigate each claim through prompt and strategic contact with appropriate parties
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and settle assigned claims within authority granted
  • Develop litigation plan with defense or coverage counsel
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the claims process

Requirements:

  • AIC, CPCU, or other industry designation preferred
  • Complies with state adjuster licensing, where applicable, countrywide
  • Minimum of 5 years of claim handling experience; trucking experience preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Computer proficiency, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of claim regulations and laws in applicable jurisdictions.
