Job Description
Senior designers shaping AI design tooling through recorded research sessions for Mercor. Evaluating design quality, critique, and shipping standards while helping train AI systems.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in a paid AI design research study with a major technology company
- Join structured, recorded remote sessions capturing how expert designers approach problems, evaluate craft, and determine shipping readiness
- Depending on fit, serve as the design expert being interviewed or conduct the interview
- Complete approximately 4–5 hours per task/interview, including preparation and a short review afterward
- Collaborate on projects focused on training and enhancing AI systems
- Submit a portfolio for fit assessment; submitted portfolios will not be used for model training
Requirements:
- Senior-level design experience in product, UX, brand, or adjacent craft disciplines
- Clear point of view on design quality, critique, and shipping standards
- Portfolio available to share, ideally via website link
- Only publicly shareable work; no confidential, unreleased, or NDA-covered material
- Must be able to work as an independent contractor
- H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not supported
Benefits:
- $150–$250 per hour
- Fully remote work
- Flexible schedule; work can be completed on your own schedule
- Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise
- Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance
