Job Description

Senior Director advising Chief Audit Executives on audit strategy and function management. Creating research insights, presentations, and actionable guidance for Gartner’s global clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Create innovative, thought-provoking, and highly leveraged must-have insights content
  • Develop thought leadership, new insights, and actionable approaches to client needs
  • Analyze client barriers and needs, identify root causes, and reframe thinking to drive strategy
  • Establish insights positions across a team of analysts
  • Bring independent insights to Gartner leaders and influence research agendas
  • Research, analyze, and predict market trends and shifts
  • Advise clients and prospects through virtual and face-to-face interactions
  • Create and deliver presentations for Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings
  • Support BTI and Sales by serving as the voice of the market and driving client engagement
  • Conduct timely, high-quality content peer reviews
  • Build credibility as an industry expert representing Gartner insights, methodology, and strategy
  • Participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions with Insights colleagues
  • Identify research process improvements and develop new service-delivery processes
  • Mentor and coach more junior team members
  • Engage clients regularly with Gartner insights and interactions
  • Advise Chief Audit Executives and their teams on CAE leadership and audit function management
  • Lead internal insight discussions among analysts and collaborate across Gartner’s Assurance Practice

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred
  • 12+ years of relevant field or industry experience
  • Applicable experience with and deep knowledge of the internal audit leader or Chief Audit Executive role
  • In-depth understanding of the Audit function and adjacent functions such as Compliance, Legal, and Risk
  • Strong experience in Audit professional practices, including quality assurance, process improvement, audit staff training, and liaising with external auditors, regulators, and/or other assurance providers
  • Executive presence and ability to establish credibility with executives and stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Excellence in research and writing
  • Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data, applying patterns and frameworks, and defending conclusions
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts concisely
  • Subject matter expertise and comfort presenting at large and small-scale engagements
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams in a multicultural global team
  • Learning agility and ability to navigate highly matrixed environments
  • Ability to represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies effectively
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% where applicable
  • Preferred: Experience leading audit strategy development and execution
  • Preferred: Experience designing and updating audit methodologies, policies, and procedures and/or integrating new technologies into audit processes
