Job Description
Senior Engineer improving C++ simulation software, UIs, optimization workflows, and MCP servers. Building AI-agent integrations for Silvaco’s semiconductor design tools.
Responsibilities:
- Work across a diverse software portfolio rather than a single product
- Improve user interfaces for simulation control tools
- Add optimisation workflows
- Fix bugs in C++ codebases
- Build MCP servers for LLM integration
- Make existing tools usable by AI agents
- Design tool interfaces that work reliably when controlled by an LLM
- Build agent pipelines integrating with simulation workflows
- Start new projects from scratch
- Potentially lead a project end-to-end after building domain familiarity and demonstrating ownership
- Consider both scientist usability and AI-agent usability when designing tools
Requirements:
- C++ Programming Language
- BS in Computer Science or applicable experience
- Must be fluent in English
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in this type of role
- Experience in the semiconductor industry preferred
- Curiosity, ability to learn quickly, and enjoyment of building tools for serious technical users
- No prior background in simulation or optimisation expected; domain knowledge is learnable with support
