Job Description
Senior Engineering Manager leading a team of engineers in shopper engagement at Instacart. Overseeing product lifecycle and technical direction while managing talent development.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Shopper Activation & Engagement end-to-end
- Drive multi-quarter roadmap planning and sequencing
- Partner deeply across cross-functional stakeholders
- Develop and retain engineering talent across a team of 10–12 engineers
- Set the technical direction for the team
Requirements:
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 5+ years managing software engineers
- Experience leading product engineering teams across mobile applications and backend services
- Strong technical judgment across distributed systems
- Demonstrated ability to define, sequence, and deliver multi-quarter roadmaps
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional planning and negotiation
- Experience managing ownership surface area with cross-team dependencies
- Strong people leadership track record
- Experience using modern AI developer tools
