Job Description

Senior Financial Analyst leading budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for Preferred Mutual Insurance. Translating insurance financial data into executive insights and efficiency improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Support PMIC leadership across key areas with financial analysis, reporting, and planning
  • Own the annual planning and budgeting process for PMIC
  • Partner with Accounting to analyze monthly and quarterly results
  • Prepare financial projections for the quarter and balance of year
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly management reporting, including trend analyses, commentaries, and charts
  • Compile monthly and quarterly reporting on industry peers’ results and metrics
  • Identify drivers and trends in financial and business metrics
  • Package financial insights for senior management review and discussion
  • Help design and implement internal financial reporting frameworks with the Accounting team
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects
  • Perform other additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • 4+ years of experience in FP&A, including at least 1 year in the insurance industry
  • P&C Insurance industry experience required
  • Relevant industry and/or professional certifications required
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) required
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging advanced data analysis tools such as Excel, Tableau, and PowerBI
  • Experience using emerging AI-driven solutions to extract insights, automate reporting, and support data-informed decision making
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, executive-level insights
  • Ability to find and analyze data to support senior management decision making
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and prioritize multiple projects
  • Strong process orientation and continuous improvement mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, and drive results
