Job Description
Senior investigator protecting Monzo’s UK business banking customers from fraud and money laundering. Conducting complex KYB/AML reviews, SAR reporting, and investigator coaching.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct the most complex financial crime business banking tasks, including Enhanced Due Diligence for high-risk businesses, complex customer reviews, and multi-jurisdictional money muling investigations
- Write, review, and submit high-quality Suspicious Activity Reports to the National Crime Agency
- Maintain a regular schedule on core investigative tasks to support competency and service level agreements
- Coach Investigators on complex financial crime typologies, best practices, and performance improvement
- Work with Operations Analysts to share emerging trends and update and embed operational guidance
- Perform onboarding and ongoing compliance checks, investigations, reporting, and account closures to mitigate financial crime risk
Requirements:
- Deep KYB and AML expertise
- Significant experience conducting end-to-end business due diligence (KYB/EDD) and complex investigations within a regulated financial setting
- Skilled researcher able to leverage open-source intelligence and analysis to corroborate customer profiles and transactional activity
- Strong grasp of UK and international financial crime trends affecting business accounts and the UK SAR regime
- Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities, new guidance, and process changes at short notice
- Leadership and improvement skills; ideally experience mentoring peers or escalating process improvements
- Relevant qualification such as ICA or ACAMS is described as ideal
- Availability to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm, plus one full weekend every 4 weeks
