Job Description
Senior Industrial Designer creating autonomous spacecraft and space-security hardware for True Anomaly. Taking products from sketches and prototypes through production with engineering collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the company's family of hardware products from concept through production
- Sketch, model, prototype, refine, and detail hardware designs
- Collaborate with hardware engineering on packaging, thermal, structural, and harness-routing compromises
- Create physical prototypes quickly through printing and mockups
- Produce renders, animations, and drawings for executives, customers, and manufacturing partners
- Apply strong design and artistic vision across products
- Work directly with design leadership and hardware engineers on the early hardware design team
- Take ownership of design problems and see them through in a lean, hands-on team
Requirements:
- Amazing portfolio of hardware designed, including sketches and the design process
- Strong surfacing and CAD skills
- Comfort working from and back into engineering CAD
- Practical manufacturing knowledge: machining, sheet metal, additive manufacturing, molding, coatings, and finishes
- Experience or background in consumer, automotive, aerospace, robotics, medical, or industrial equipment
- Adobe Creative Suite, Blender, or Cinema 4D familiarity is a plus; mastery of an individual toolset is valued more
- Active security clearance is a bonus, not a requirement
- Must be located near Long Beach, California or Denver, Colorado, or be eligible to work remotely within the United States
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations for ITAR compliance
