Job Description

Senior Manager overseeing social media and digital engagement strategies for Make-A-Wish America. Driving brand presence and audience engagement through innovative approaches and influencer collaborations.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and evolve the national social media strategy to drive fundraising, mission delivery, and brand engagement.
  • Lead social media engagement strategies for executive leadership and board members to position Make-A-Wish as a nonprofit thought leader.
  • Serve as the primary social media contact for national brand partners, leading strategic planning and high-impact campaigns.
  • Act as a social media advocate across the organization, ensuring integration into partnerships, initiatives, and campaigns.
  • Support and activate influencer engagement and virtual fundraising initiatives—including online auctions, sweepstakes, and digital campaigns—in partnership with the Director, Digital & Social, to maximize reach and revenue for brand and corporate campaigns and initiatives.
  • Cultivate relationships with influencers and content creators to amplify fundraising campaigns and brand activations.
  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships with chapters and internal teams; advise and train chapter practitioners on best practices.
  • Oversee Make-A-Wish America’s presence across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Threads, and X.
  • Direct teams and agencies in creating, curating, publishing, and managing content aligned with brand guidelines and partner requirements.
  • Spearhead innovative content strategies, including live coverage of wishes, campaigns, and events.
  • Ensure consistency, compliance, and impact of brand and sponsor-generated content.
  • Establish KPIs, monitor analytics, and implement continuous improvement to maximize ROI and audience growth.
  • Design and manage enterprise-level social media dashboards, delivering actionable insights to leadership.
  • Supervise the Manager, Social Media, providing mentorship and professional development.
  • Manage agency relationships and contracts for social marketing campaigns.
  • Identify emerging platforms, tools, and trends to expand reach and engagement.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Liberal Arts, Business, or related field required.
  • 7+ years of experience required, with 5+ years of experience in social media, marketing, or communications.
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience required
  • Demonstrated experience on the ins and outs of using Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, TikTok, LinkedIn, Discord, and social media management tools.
  • Demonstrated experience working with various stakeholders, including corporate partners.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing social media campaigns that drive engagement and revenue.
  • Experience supporting virtual fundraising campaigns, including online auctions, sweepstakes, and influencer-led initiatives.
  • Proven ability to recruit and manage relationships with influencers, content creators, and online communities.
  • Familiarity with charity stream fundraising platforms and virtual event coordination.
  • Strong analytical skills for tracking performance and optimizing campaigns.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote environment and travel to industry events as needed.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications, including demonstrated expertise in PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in developing content and graphics.
  • Working knowledge of nonprofit organizations is helpful.
