Job Description
Senior Product Manager shaping scalable digital services for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Leading product strategy, APIs, integrations, delivery, and platform adoption for Veteran-focused government services.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with customers and Product Owners to define product vision, strategy, and measurable outcomes
- Lead cross-functional teams through discovery, planning, delivery, and continuous improvement
- Develop and maintain product briefs, roadmaps, and strategic documentation
- Translate customer needs, mission objectives, and technical constraints into product priorities and execution plans
- Drive roadmap planning, backlog refinement, and prioritization
- Support CI/CD pipelines, release planning, deployment strategies, and operational excellence with DevOps teams
- Improve delivery processes, reduce operational friction, and increase product reliability
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence decisions and achieve program objectives
- Advocate for user-centered design, Lean product principles, and iterative delivery
- Remove blockers and keep delivery on track with Engineering, UX, Business Analysis, and DevOps teams
- Establish scalable onboarding processes and documentation for product owners, producers, consumers, and platform partners
- Expand platform adoption through strategic partnerships across customer organizations
- Define onboarding experiences that enable partner and user adoption and self-service
- Manage platform or API-driven products, integrations, shared services, and enterprise dependencies
- Collaborate with technical teams to define product capabilities, APIs, integrations, and platform services
- Mentor junior Product Managers and improve product management practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of Product Management experience
- Relevant years of experience may be substituted for education
- 1+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams including Engineering, UX, Business Analysis, and DevOps
- Experience developing product roadmaps, managing backlogs, and prioritizing work based on customer value and business objectives
- Experience identifying and removing delivery blockers and driving products from concept through release
- Experience in Agile product development environments using Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or similar methodologies
- Experience partnering with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, release planning, deployment strategies, and modern software delivery practices
- Experience managing platform products, API products, enterprise integrations, or shared services
- Strong communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future
- Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
- Preferred: CSPO, Certified Product Manager (CPM), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, or related Agile certifications
- Preferred: 3+ years leading large cross-functional product initiatives in complex enterprise or federal environments
- Preferred: Experience developing strategic partnerships that increase product or platform adoption
- Preferred: Experience managing platform or API products supporting multiple applications, teams, or enterprise services
- Preferred: Experience defining API capabilities, integrations, and platform strategies for scalable adoption and self-service
- Preferred: Experience creating scalable onboarding models, documentation, and self-service capabilities
- Preferred: Experience with cloud-native platforms, microservices architectures, or enterprise integration patterns
- Preferred: Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs or other Federal Civilian agencies
