Job Description

Senior Regulatory Specialist leading environmental assessments and permit applications for Ensero Solutions. Ensuring compliance and developing regulatory strategies while mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides direction and activities related to planning studies, environmental assessments and permit applications for Ensero projects and clients.
  • Leads the development of regulatory strategies for clients.
  • Work collaboratively with technical teams and proactively identify opportunities to improve project environmental design aspects and streamline regulatory processes.
  • Develops an integrated project schedule including the critical path for the end-to-end tasks and activities necessary to successfully implement projects.
  • Provide corporate technical support to Ensero projects with regard to environmental compliance, governance and permitting.
  • Interface and communicate with various levels of government, stakeholders and communities to advance permitting activities.
  • Represent Ensero Solutions and our clients in regulatory and community meetings, workshops and events and oversee the preparation of presentation materials.
  • Keep abreast of existing and pending legislation and regulation changes which may impact Ensero projects or our client’s projects. Coordinate and disseminate regulatory information within the company.
  • Develop professional and business relationships across the industry to better advance Ensero’s growth and strategic initiatives.
  • Supports the writing and development of client proposals and explores business development opportunities in mining and other sectors.
  • Conducts senior reviews of technical deliverables and programs in area(s) of expertise.
  • Completes other projects, reporting and tasks as assigned.
  • Mentor and provide technical training to junior and intermediate team members
  • All other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 7 - 9 years of previous experience working in environmental consulting, A/E/C or relevant industry.
  • Experience in building relationships and engaging with First Nations and all levels of Government.
  • Knowledge of and experience in Yukon’s, NWT’s, Nunavut’s and BC’s (and other jurisdictions) impact assessment and licensing regime for resource development projects.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members as well as lead multi-disciplinary projects
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other business software
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels
