Job Description
Senior Research Scientist leading applied research for Syndio’s pay governance and compensation intelligence platform. Combining proprietary pay data with labor-market data to inform executives, products, and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead studies end to end: frame questions, design measurement, run analyses, and write findings
- Shape flagship research reports and partner studies
- Combine Syndio pay-decision data with external labor-market, survey, and benchmark data
- Build reusable research methods
- Build outcome and ROI models connecting pay governance to attrition, cost, risk, and performance
- Join executive conversations at strategic accounts and translate findings for CHROs and CFOs
- Bring customer questions back to shape future studies
- Partner with product and data science teams to incorporate research into features, benchmarks, and reporting
- Co-author reports, articles, and executive briefings with source-traceable external claims
Requirements:
- A PhD or equivalent depth in industrial-organizational psychology, behavioral or decision science, labor economics, statistics, or a related field
- Track record of following applied research through to impact, beyond publication record
- Hands-on quantitative skills: causal and quasi-experimental methods, psychometrics and survey design
- Working fluency in Python or R and SQL on large, messy, real-world data
- Comfort presenting findings to senior customers, including CHROs and CFOs
- Ability to work across data warehouses and boardroom-level discussions
- Judgment to work within strict data-use and privacy boundaries
