Job Description
Senior Software Engineer building Airbnb’s community-support web products for global hosts and guests. Developing frontend components, server-side APIs, and AI-driven support features.
Responsibilities:
- Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering counterparts to execute product and business strategy and build novel products and features
- Drive, lead, and contribute to the full development cycle, including technical design, development, test automation, experimentation, analysis, and launch
- Review code and design documents and provide feedback on product specifications and mocks
- Build efficient, reusable frontend web components with high quality, performance, and scalability
- Design and implement server-side APIs supporting frontend requirements
- Collaborate with Machine Learning and Generative AI Engineers to improve Community Support systems
- Provide input on technical direction through engineering design discussions
- Shape technical vision and deliver flexible, efficient, scalable solutions
- Mentor junior developers
Requirements:
- 6+ years of industry experience
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Experience architecting frontend systems and owning end-to-end features and cross-team integrations
- Experience building large web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript libraries and tooling, such as React and GraphQL
- Fluency in HTML, CSS, and related web technologies
- Demonstrated excellence in accessibility, performance optimization, and paved-path client practices
- Product mindset and strong communication; comfortable driving cross-organization integration with partner teams
- Experience building UI for AI-driven features, including classical supervised machine learning and Generative AI
- Proficiency in one or more back-end server languages, such as Java/Kotlin
- Mentorship experience with junior developers
- Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity
