Job Description
Senior Software Engineer building Toast Local’s consumer web experiences and restaurant tools. Working across React, Next.js, APIs, and mobile teams to improve digital dining.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the team’s web work, including guest-facing features and restaurant tools
- Build cross-platform experiences with iOS, Android, and backend engineers
- Work across the stack from React and Next.js frontend applications to backend services
- Experiment with guests and restaurants to test new dining experiences
- Ship code driving the growth and strategy of Toast’s consumer business
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer
- Strong frontend experience building modern web applications with React and TypeScript; Next.js a plus
- Backend experience building GraphQL or REST APIs; Kotlin/Java a plus
- Ownership of work from start to finish, including shipping, launching, monitoring rollouts, and analyzing results
- Point of view on consumer products and desire to shape what gets built
- Proven track record of leading technical projects with cross-team impact and cross-functional collaboration
- Experience with native frontend development for iOS or Android is a nice-to-have
