Job Description
Senior Go Software Engineer building secure, high-availability API Gateway services. Supporting Stone, a Brazilian payments technology and financial services company, across authentication and financial APIs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance Go APIs and workers that make up the authentication gateway and request-routing layer for financial services
- Work on authentication and authorization flows (OAuth2, JWT, certificates, IDP, and SK)
- Maintain and enhance API Gateway plugins, ensuring end-to-end resilience and observability
- Ensure high availability, performance, and low latency for edge services handling high traffic volumes
- Participate in the Kubernetes deployment lifecycle, observability initiatives, and incident response
- Document implemented changes
- Build and maintain production systems with a focus on performance, scalability, security, availability, reliability, and resilience
Requirements:
- Identify gaps in the architecture and development process, challenge existing approaches, and propose solutions
- Conduct code and documentation reviews
- Implement automated tests and follow CI/CD best practices
- Develop software in Go, with 5+ years of production experience and a focus on business-critical services
- Solid knowledge of authentication and authorization, including OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, and certificate management
- Strong security mindset, including secrets management, encryption, and hardening of exposed APIs
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and deploying containerized applications
- Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL), non-relational databases (MongoDB), and distributed caching (Redis)
- Ability to contribute to architectural decisions, participate in code reviews, and provide technical mentorship
- Experience with API Gateway architecture; experience with Kong is a plus
- Knowledge of public cloud platforms such as AWS (ECS, EKS, RDS, ElastiCache)
- Experience with GitOps tools and practices, including ArgoCD
- Knowledge of and interest in financial markets, payment systems, or payment methods
