Job Description
Senior Software Engineer building scalable healthcare software, APIs, and AI-assisted applications at Evolent. Leading architecture, development, cloud integrations, and technical mentorship for health plan and provider solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex software solutions
- Architect and implement high-performance APIs and microservices
- Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and engineers to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding best practices
- Mentor and coach junior engineers
- Improve the software development lifecycle through automation, testing, and CI/CD pipelines
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to ensure service availability and reliability
- Evaluate and integrate tools, frameworks, and technologies
- Drive the technical vision for projects and contribute to architectural discussions and long-term planning
- Apply AI-assisted development techniques across requirements analysis, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and operational support
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of professional software development experience delivering complex, scalable applications
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as C#, Java, or Python and familiarity with their ecosystems
- Understanding of software architecture patterns, including microservices, event-driven/clean architecture, and RESTful API design
- Experience building and maintaining ASP.NET MVC and WCF applications
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Expertise in SQL and NoSQL database design and optimization
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
- Ability to lead technical discussions, present to stakeholders, and write detailed documentation
- Experience using AI-assisted development platforms such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar tools
- Experience integrating AI services, models, or agents into production applications is preferred
- Government-issued photo ID submission for identity verification
