Job Description
Senior Analyst researching technology markets, vendor revenues, forecasts, and AI competition for Gartner. Producing quantitative insights that guide enterprise technology decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to Gartner’s Market Share data and analysis by delivering vendor revenue positions
- Assess vendor revenue performance, growth rates, mergers and acquisitions, geographic expansion, and other strategic developments
- Analyze supply and demand dynamics, macroeconomic indicators, and regulatory factors influencing technology markets
- Apply Gartner estimation methodology and model individual vendor revenue
- Assist with forecast assumptions and storylines by researching end-user buying behavior, IT vendor business models, and competitive environments
- Contribute to Competitive Landscape, Opportunity Forecast, Emerging Brief, and First Take deliverables
- Analyze competitive dynamics among AI vendors, including evolving products, business models, and strategic advancements
- Build knowledge of internal and external data assets and enable innovative data-driven deliverables
- Leverage and support the continuous evolution of AI tools in research deliverables
- Drive process improvement initiatives by streamlining workflows and implementing best practices
- Communicate and collaborate with extended stakeholders on publications and initiatives
- Contribute to market vision development at local, regional, and global levels
Requirements:
- BE/B.Tech + MBA with 2-5 years of work experience, or
- Graduate + MBA from leading Tier I & II B-schools, or
- Post-graduates/graduates with IT, Maths, Statistics, Finance and Economics background (B.Sc./BBA/B.A. Economics/B.Com)
- Experience in technology research is a plus; keen interest in IT markets is required
- Highly numerate with excellent critical thinking skills
- Ability to quickly grasp and articulate market fundamentals and demand and growth drivers
- Understanding of key technology and macroeconomic trends
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of databases such as Factiva, Capital IQ, Crunchbase, and data visualization tools such as Power BI and advanced Excel is a plus
- Knowledge of conducting structured research leveraging AI tools is a plus
- Strong sense of ownership and a “can do” attitude
