Job Description
Senior Transportation Analyst optimizing national logistics, routing, and carrier performance for Republic Services, an environmental services and recycling company.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute the company’s national logistics and transportation approach in support of the Materials Marketing Group
- Oversee third-party transportation partners to manage cost, ensure efficient service, and build and optimize carrier partner relationships
- Find opportunities and drive improvements while supporting process development
- Ensure customer satisfaction by understanding missed pickups, prioritizing customer promises, and ensuring service commitments are kept
- Ensure timely and cost-effective movement of raw and finished goods to internal and external clients
- Respond to same-day changes and next-day planning needs to improve route efficiency and route design
- Collect, interpret, and analyze logistics data, including inventory and asset reliability, to improve routing accuracy and profitability
- Verify and reconcile data daily for accuracy
- Evaluate route issues that may cause delays and communicate with impacted customers
- Resolve in-transit problems to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries
- Make recommendations on freight-lane optimization and cost reduction
- Support replacement of software and brokerage tools, cross-train peers, and create departmental synergies
- Support Key Performance Management goals
- Promote safe operations and report driver performance issues to management
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Five years of prior experience working in the transportation field
- Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, critical-thinking and decision-making skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
- Process-oriented and results-oriented approach
- Ability to understand and execute time-sensitive tasks
- Demonstrates and promotes ethical behavior
- Experience in a customer-facing position
- Skillful with Microsoft Office Suite
