Job Description

Senior Epic analyst configuring, integrating, and supporting clinical healthcare applications for OhioHealth. Designing workflows, managing upgrades, testing systems, and training end users.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, test, train, deploy, and support Epic applications
  • Gather stakeholder requirements, map workflows, and design Epic configurations aligned with operational goals
  • Create specifications, decision logs, design documents, and comprehensive system documentation
  • Conduct gap analyses for upgrades, regulatory changes, and new initiatives
  • Manage smaller system implementation and upgrade projects using waterfall or agile methodologies
  • Mentor junior analysts and provide best-practice guidance
  • Configure Epic records, master files, profiles, rules, security classes, and workflows
  • Develop and execute unit, integrated, and UAT test plans; resolve defects and document test evidence
  • Validate interfaces, printing, reporting, downstream workflows, and regression coverage
  • Coordinate releases, environment moves, and downtime procedures
  • Provide go-live and post-live hypercare and at-the-elbow support
  • Manage service requests and incidents while meeting SLAs through triage and root-cause analysis
  • Provide advanced support for Epic, Workday, Kronos, and other applications
  • Collaborate with IT, clinical, interface, analytics, and operational teams on integrations, data management, reporting, and compliance
  • Design and implement customized Epic training programs and oversee CareConnect curriculum governance
  • Maintain training environments and communicate system releases and upgrades
  • Manage end-user training requests and incidents and improve support processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
  • In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in system analysis and support within a healthcare environment
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in system analysis and support within a healthcare environment
  • Experience with Epic applications and healthcare workflows
  • Strong requirements gathering, workflow design, and testing skills
  • Familiarity with ITIL, change control, SDLC practices, system governance, and waterfall/agile project methodologies
  • Ability to communicate with clinical and operational stakeholders and managed service providers
  • Proven track record managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams
  • For Application Training role: Epic Training Environment Build certified, 3+ years of experience, and 2 Epic Application Principal Trainer certifications
  • For Application Build role: current Epic certification or proficiency in relevant modules
  • For Application Build role: 3+ years of Epic build and configuration experience
  • Experience with system integration, HL7, FHIR, and interface testing
  • Exposure to SQL/Clarity, Caboodle, SlicerDicer, or reporting tools
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards
  • ITIL Foundation certification desired but not required
  • Advanced degree in a related field is a plus
