Job Description
Senior Systems Engineer building AWS/Azure infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms, and CI/CD automation for Fueled’s digital strategy and engineering agency. Operating secure, highly available systems for complex client workloads.
Responsibilities:
- Architect, deploy, and manage highly available AWS and Azure environments using Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and CDK
- Lead production Kubernetes workloads in EKS/AKS, including upgrades, networking, and autoscaling
- Own Linux system builds and troubleshoot NGINX, MariaDB, and Redis
- Run and scale MariaDB/Galera clusters, Redis, Memcached, and Elasticsearch
- Build and tune CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Azure DevOps
- Automate operational work with Python and Bash scripting
- Evolve monitoring across metrics, logs, and traces
- Harden infrastructure security, participate in incident response and 24/7 on-call rotation
- Lead load-testing efforts and improve platform performance
- Audit AWS/Azure architectures and CI/CD pipelines
- Standardize infrastructure-as-code practices and optimize Kubernetes clusters and Linux systems
- Establish highly available data tiers and platform engineering standards for complex client workloads
- Shape multi-cloud strategy and influence infrastructure design
Requirements:
- Senior-level experience in platform engineering or DevOps at scale or in multi-tenant environments
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and Azure; multi-cloud preferred; GCP and Oracle Cloud a plus
- Deep Linux systems setup, tuning, troubleshooting, and hardening experience
- Experience taking Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or CDK projects from greenfield through long-term management
- Proven experience operating production EKS/AKS, including upgrades, networking, troubleshooting, and Kubernetes PodWeaver
- Experience managing production-grade NGINX, MariaDB/Galera, Redis/Memcached, and Elasticsearch
- Advanced Python and/or Bash scripting
- Experience building and tuning CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, GitLab, or similar tools
- Strong grasp of modern observability tooling and security best practices
- Excellent documentation skills and clear communication
- Ability to work with clients and bridge systems and application teams
- Availability for a 24/7 support rotation
