Responsibilities:
- A successful candidate will be able to apply a mature working knowledge of the following Test Automation Framework tools including Robot Framework, Python, Pycharm, and GitHub.
- The candidate will leverage and assist in the development of AI-Assisted Test Automation so that Leidos can differentiate themselves from the current as-is practices in this area.
- The candidate will also leverage Cameo Systems Modeler to build test procedures, reference test procedures, and record test observations and conclusions within the Naval Enterprise Network (NEN) model.
- Build and sustain a team culture focused on empowerment and opportunity, where each engineer is highly supported and encouraged to lean into tasks with confidence.
- Cross-Platform Automation: Design and scale automation suites that cover Windows/Linux Desktop applications, modern Web interfaces, and Server-side backend processes.
- Remote & Hybrid Orchestration: Implement advanced automation strategies for remote environments, utilizing tools to automate via Remote Desktop (RDP), VNC, or SSH where direct agent installation is restricted.
- Hardware/Software Integration: Perform hands-on validation where software interacts with physical hardware, ensuring robust communication and performance across the entire stack.
- Framework Architecture: Lead the development of custom libraries in Python and Robot Framework to support multi-platform testing.
- CI/CD Integration: Manage and optimize automated pipelines within Azure DevOps (ADO) and GitHub, ensuring high-speed feedback loops for developers.
- Technical Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert for automation best practices, conducting code reviews and mentoring team members on complex system integration.
- Programming Mastery: Expert-level Python skills with a proven track record of being a fast learner in new languages and emerging 2026 automation technologies.
- Automation Framework Expert: Deep experience with Robot Framework (Keyword-driven and Data-driven) for complex workflow orchestration.
- Multi-OS Expertise: Hands-on experience automating applications on both Windows (WinAppDriver, FlaUI) and Linux (CLI, GUI automation) environments.
- Web & Server Testing: Proficiency in automating web applications (Selenium/Playwright) and verifying server-side integrity via API and log analysis.
- Remote Desktop Automation: Experience using specialized tools (e.g., Eggplant, SikuliX, or Image-based recognition) to automate across Remote Desktop (RDP) or virtualized environments.
- Hardware Competency: Experience interfacing software with hardware components (e.g., firmware flashing, sensor data validation, or peripheral testing).
- DevOps & Tools: Mastery of GitHub version control and Azure DevOps for lifecycle management and pipeline execution.
- Be an ambassador, and a leader of ambassadors for AI-Assisted Test Automation by being able to speak to the benefits of this approach as compared to the current as-is process.
- Collaborate and coordinate with external customers, management, subcontractors, vendors, and other engineering disciplines.
- Lead moderate size and complex projects as requested by the Test Automation Lead.
