Job Description

SEO Expert responsible for developing and executing SEO strategies for e-commerce clients. Collaborating with the Marketing Manager and ensuring growth through effective SEO execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of SEO strategy and execution for a portfolio of e-commerce clients.
  • Develop, execute, and continuously improve SEO strategies that drive measurable organic growth.
  • Work autonomously on day-to-day client work while collaborating closely with the Marketing Manager.
  • Manage multiple SEO client accounts and take full responsibility for strategy, execution, and outcomes.
  • Conduct keyword research, competitive analysis, technical audits, and content planning.
  • Implement on-page, technical, and off-page SEO improvements across client websites.
  • Optimize product pages, category structures, internal linking, and site architecture for large e-commerce catalogs.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, designers, and marketers to ensure correct implementation of SEO recommendations.
  • Monitor performance using analytics and SEO tools to refine strategies based on data results.
  • Prepare clear, actionable reports and recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with SEO trends, algorithm changes, and emerging best practices in search and e-commerce.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering SEO strategies for e-commerce websites, with approximately 4 to 5 years of hands-on SEO work focused on driving organic growth for online stores.
  • Proven track record of developing, executing, and iterating SEO strategies that lead to measurable improvements in organic traffic, rankings, and revenue.
  • Experience providing SEO services in a client-facing capacity, ideally working with clients based in the United States and understanding the expectations, communication style, and performance standards of that market.
  • Previous experience working in an agency environment or as a freelancer managing multiple SEO clients simultaneously, with the ability to prioritize work and maintain consistent quality across accounts.
  • Strong technical SEO expertise, including a deep understanding of site architecture, crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and common technical challenges affecting e-commerce websites.
  • Hands-on experience working with major e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, or similar platforms, and understanding the platform-specific SEO considerations involved.
  • Experience optimizing for modern and emerging search environments, including familiarity with AI-powered search, LLM-driven discovery, Answer Engine Optimization, and Generative Engine Optimization.
  • High proficiency in SEO and analytics tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console, with the ability to use these platforms efficiently to diagnose issues and uncover opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex datasets, audits, and reports into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for both internal teams and clients.
  • Strategic and forward-thinking mindset, with the ability to anticipate algorithm updates, industry shifts, and changes in search behavior rather than reacting to them after impact.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently, take ownership of challenges, and move work forward without constant oversight.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple client accounts, initiatives, and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining structure and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with confidence presenting strategies, results, and recommendations to clients in a clear and professional manner.
  • Highly communicative, proactive, and reliable work style, with a strong sense of ownership, transparency, and accountability for assigned client accounts.
  • Comfort working autonomously in a remote or distributed team environment, while collaborating effectively with colleagues when needed.
  • Openness to feedback and continuous improvement, with a willingness to adapt and refine your approach over time.
  • Must be available and responsive during standard office hours in Slovenia and able to consistently work full-time.
  • Must have a stable internet connection and a reliable laptop or PC suitable for professional SEO work.
