Job Description
Frontend SDE II building high-performance commerce surfaces for HighLevel’s AI-powered business operating system. Developing storefronts, checkout, PWAs, accessibility, and localisation features.
Responsibilities:
- Build and ship commerce surfaces including storefronts, checkout, catalog, subscription management, invoices, and documents
- Embed experiences using module federation, iframes, and white-label hosts that remain isolated, load quickly, and degrade gracefully
- Own end-to-end performance budgets covering Core Web Vitals, bundle size, render cost, hydration, and main-thread work
- Measure performance in CI and defend performance budgets
- Build installable, offline-tolerant PWAs with service workers, caching strategies, and background sync
- Deliver WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility and full localisation across languages, currencies, tax and address formats, and RTL layouts
- Instrument the client with real-user monitoring and OpenTelemetry
- Collaborate with Product Management and Design
- Mentor junior engineers
Requirements:
- 2+ years building and operating production frontend applications
- Deep Vue.js knowledge, including reactivity model, component composition, rendering behaviour, and runtime costs
- Experience using Lighthouse, Chrome DevTools, and performance profilers to identify, measure, and fix regressions
- Knowledge of service workers and caching strategies, including precaching, runtime caching, versioning, invalidation, and offline behaviour
- Experience with client state management and local caching at scale, such as TanStack Query or equivalent
- Knowledge of accessibility semantics, focus management, keyboard paths, screen reader behaviour, and WCAG 2.2 AA
- Experience with internationalisation/localisation, including message extraction, plurals, locale-aware currency/date formatting, and RTL
- Knowledge of modern frontend tooling and module federation, including Rspack and Vite; bundle analysis and code splitting
- Comfortable consuming typed backend contracts using ConnectRPC/protobuf and reasoning about API contracts and error states
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Vue.js, Rspack, Module Federation, TanStack Query, service workers/PWA, OpenTelemetry, Vite, ESLint, Go, ConnectRPC, Buf, GCP/GKE, and Pub/Sub
