Job Description
Senior backend engineer building Node.js/Python services and AI systems for Stark Future, a sustainable electric motorcycle manufacturer. Designing scalable APIs and distributed architectures.
Responsibilities:
- Build the backend and AI systems supporting the growth of electric motorcycle manufacturer Stark Future SL
- Act as the main developer for AI-based solutions
- Operationalize Python-based AI tools into Node.js and Python backends
- Design, develop, and maintain web services and APIs in Python, Node.js, or other specialized stacks
- Enforce coding standards for clean, stable, concise, and extensible code
- Troubleshoot, debug, and urgently resolve production issues
- Collaborate with AI, product, front-end, QA, DevOps, and external partner teams
- Make high-level architecture decisions balancing scalability, performance, and maintainability
- Evaluate industry trends and recommend product-level improvements
- Mentor new and existing team members
- Own and prioritize the technical backlog
- Maintain technical documentation and conduct team communication in English
- Improve workflows and contribute to an open, feedback-driven team culture
Requirements:
- 7+ years designing, building and operating production web services
- Mastery of Computer Science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, complexity, and concurrency
- Strong background in distributed systems
- Proficiency with Node.js, TypeScript, and at least one server framework such as Express or NestJS
- Experience creating and maintaining production-grade RESTful APIs
- Strong understanding of API versioning, authentication, rate limiting, and pagination patterns
- Expertise in scalable architecture patterns, including microservices, event-driven systems, and CQRS
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
- Solid SQL skills, including schema design, indexing, migrations, and performance tuning
- Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proficient in English
- Growth mindset; openness to feedback, continuous learning, documentation, and knowledge sharing
- Nice to have: experience deploying services on AWS, including Lambda, ECS/EKS, RDS, SQS, and CloudWatch
- Nice to have: proficiency with Python and Python server backends
- Nice to have: end-to-end technical project experience
- Nice to have: familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
