Job Description
Engineering Manager liderando squad e microsserviços de boletos na Stone, empresa brasileira de tecnologia e serviços financeiros. Garantindo integração resiliente com PCR, compensação e liquidação bancária.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical and operational evolution of the microservices connecting Stone/Pagar.me to PCR and Núclea’s CMP and SILOC systems
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software to solve customer problems
- Lead a multidisciplinary squad of 4 to 6 developers
- Participate in technical solution design, code reviews, feasibility assessments, technical planning, and effort and timeline estimation
- Oversee the squad’s operations, including PCR processing windows, file and message processing, reconciliation, and incident management
- Work with Product and Compliance to implement changes required by regulatory updates and layout changes from Núclea and the Central Bank of Brazil
- Develop the roadmap and manage the backlog with Product and stakeholders
- Define and monitor Scrum/Kanban cycles and Planning, Daily Stand-up, and Retrospective ceremonies
- Track metrics, OKRs, and improvement action plans
- Conduct 1:1 meetings, individual development plans (IDPs), performance reviews, and team development activities
- Participate in recruitment and selection, including technical interviews and coding challenges
- Promote engineering best practices, documentation, testing, design patterns, and code reviews
- Support the team’s mental health and work-life balance
Requirements:
- Experience leading technical teams as a manager or tech lead, working with agile methodologies
- Experience in backend development with Go and/or Elixir
- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and the HTTP protocol
- Experience with messaging and asynchronous processing, including Kafka, queues, and batch file processing
- Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures
- Strong knowledge of SOLID principles, Clean Code, and design patterns
- Experience with requirements engineering, diagramming, UML, and documentation
- Experience with telemetry, monitoring, observability, and metrics
- Experience with unit, integration, stress, and mutation testing
- Knowledge of databases, relational and non-relational data modeling, caching strategies, and distributed processing
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and automation
- Agile mindset and knowledge of agile principles, Scrum, and Kanban
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies
- Act as an ambassador for Stone’s culture
- Teamwork, candor, and transparency
- Nice to have: experience with financial projects; the DDA/PCR boleto ecosystem, CNAB, CMP, and SILOC; IBM MQ, Connect:Direct, or RSFN; and critical, high-availability applications
