Job Description
Project Engineer II supporting engineering and quality control for solar energy projects during construction and commissioning with active involvement in technical collaboration and inspections.
Responsibilities:
- Support engineering and quality control efforts for Pivot’s projects during construction and commissioning
- Provide technical assistance as needed for operational assets
- Review construction drawings, PVsyst reports, and commissioning documents
- Ensure projects meet the requirements of Pivot’s Technical Specifications and industry best practices
- Coordinate with Independent and Owner’s Engineers to address technical questions
- Collaborate with internal project management to support project activities
- Conduct on-site and remote inspections on active construction sites and operational assets
- Assist in reviewing operational asset production data and troubleshooting issues
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in community-scale solar PV and energy storage engineering, construction, and commissioning.
- Extensive knowledge of battery energy storage system design and commissioning as well as National Electric Code, International Fire Code, and other relevant building codes.
- Knowledge of AC and DC electrical design and equipment.
- Knowledge of utility distribution requirements, equipment, and design.
- Working knowledge of PVsyst and system performance analysis.
- Knowledge of solar and electrical commissioning and testing standards and techniques. Especially the International Electrical Testing Association’s Standard for Acceptance Testing Specifications.
- Strong working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing programs.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building trust and rapport in a professional manner.
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
