Job Description

Product controller managing U.S. fixed-income P&L, reconciliations, and financial reporting for BMO. Supporting trading desks across fixed-income products and driving AI-enabled process improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the full-scope product controller for U.S. Fixed Income businesses, including Primary Dealer, US Money Markets, Securitized Products, High Yield, and Origination trading desks
  • Oversee and review accurate daily P&L and PAA reporting for U.S. Fixed Income trading desks and products
  • Review large daily fluctuations and escalate them to management
  • Oversee Front-Office to Back-Office reconciliations
  • Develop working knowledge of trade flow from inception to general ledger
  • Understand general ledgers and settlement systems, including ICI, Calypso, GMI, GlobalOne, ADP, LoanIQ, S4, and Progress/Essbase
  • Ensure correct general ledger bookings and proper setup of new products in P&L tracking
  • Manage product-related balance sheet and income statement line items
  • Record, upload, reconcile, and coordinate general ledger postings for product-related activity
  • Prepare P&L and balance sheet reconciliations for month-end close
  • Coordinate with legal entity and regulatory accounting, risk, operations, and other support groups
  • Create and update monthly analysis of key business drivers
  • Prepare commentary and standard period-over-period analysis
  • Leverage AI to drive efficiencies and scalability across Product Control
  • Liaise with desk personnel on daily issues and support monthly reporting deadlines and other deliverables

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial services industry
  • Strong knowledge of fixed income products and the MBS market
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to learn systems quickly
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines without compromising data integrity
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong customer service and client focus
  • CFA / CPA and/or Series 99/Series 7 a plus
  • Prior experience with Fixed Income products and/or risk based pnl explain preferred
