Job Description
Cardiovascular specialty representative promoting Amgen biotech medicines across a Southern California field territory. Educating medical professionals, managing accounts, and driving territory sales.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary customer contact and implement marketing strategy under the District Manager
- Provide current and comprehensive knowledge of Amgen products and communicate clinical benefits to medical professionals
- Drive appropriate product utilization
- Achieve territory sales through branded sales messages, planned programs, medical educational programs, and in-person and virtual engagement
- Develop and manage customer accounts based on customer needs
- Ensure product access and resolve or triage reimbursement issues
- Maintain product contracts
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy and analyze sales activity and territory performance
- Develop territory plans with the District Manager
- Share best practices and continuously learn with colleagues
- Build the brand while keeping patient impact at the forefront
- Uphold Amgen values, ethical standards, quality, teamwork, collaboration, communication, and accountability
Requirements:
- Specialty Representative: Bachelor's Degree OR Associate's degree and 4 years of Sales experience OR high school diploma/GED and 6 years of Sales experience
- Senior Specialty Representative: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related OR high school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related
- Preferred: Three or more years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device industry
- Preferred product or hospital sales experience in specified therapeutic areas, including cardiology
- Local market knowledge
- Established relationships in the territory
- Adaptability with core competencies including planning and organizing, business/industry/technical knowledge, communicating with impact, driving for results, and cultivating relationships
- Relocation is not offered
