Job Description
Staff Security Engineer designing DoorDash’s global physical and cloud security systems. Leading multi-team programs, AWS infrastructure, security integrations, and enterprise risk reduction.
Responsibilities:
- Design the physical security systems integration layer, including access control and video management platforms, APIs, and data connectors
- Design and deliver multi-domain security services spanning physical security, hardware provisioning, site readiness, cloud and network infrastructure, identity and access management, key management, and reporting/observability
- Partner with software engineers from design through implementation
- Propose and review architecture and design resilient, secure, and scalable solutions
- Support services in production and ensure operational excellence
- Own the AWS cloud footprint, including services, identity boundaries, and network boundaries
- Execute complex security initiatives through detailed working-backwards plans
- Manage delivery risks, risk registers, mitigations, and delivery dates
- Unblock cross-team work and escalate issues with recommendations and tradeoffs
- Provide concise status updates to senior leaders and manage stakeholder expectations
- Drive technical decisions to closure and document tooling recommendations and decisions
- Contribute to vision, strategy, technical direction, and success metrics
- Mentor engineers and program managers and improve plans, status reporting, and operational and security standards
- Develop shared goals with security partners and identify solutions that optimize or automate inefficient processes
Requirements:
- 6+ years in security or infrastructure engineering, including 4+ leading multi-team technical programs
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Security Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent years of experience in a related technical field
- Expertise with cloud-based services and infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.)
- Hands-on depth with enterprise access control and video platforms (Lenel, Genetec, Milestone, or peers) and the APIs and integrations around them
- Project planning and execution skills including JIRA experience, reviewing technical design documents, security controls, estimating, and scheduling
- Deep understanding of at least three security engineering domains and broad understanding across many domains
- Ability to read network diagrams and reason about cloud deployment topology
- Understanding of hardware and firmware lifecycles
- Experience with global-scale software or cloud rollouts, vendor-supplied platforms, integration, and migration work
- Exceptional written and verbal communication
- Ability to influence without authority and re-plan when circumstances change
- Experience mentoring engineers and program managers
- Strong ownership, urgency, autonomy, and drive
- Preferred: proficiency in SQL data analysis, Python coding, and other automation tooling
- Preferred: experience with building Agentic workflows
