Job Description

Structural forensic engineer investigating failures, property damage, and insurance claims for TRC Worldwide Engineering. Preparing expert reports and supporting client relationships and business development.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform forensic investigations involving structural failures and property damage
  • Evaluate roofing systems, foundation settlement, retaining walls, water intrusion, structural distress, and sinkhole-related damage
  • Perform field inspections and analyze findings
  • Prepare comprehensive engineering reports
  • Provide expert opinions and technical recommendations for clients and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with insurance carriers, attorneys, property owners, and consultants
  • Maintain and develop client relationships to support business growth
  • Participate in networking events, industry conferences, and marketing initiatives

Requirements:

  • Licensed Structural Forensic Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Tennessee PE preferred
  • Additional state PE licenses highly desirable
  • Extensive experience in forensic engineering and insurance-related investigations
  • Strong technical report writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Proven client management and relationship-building abilities
  • Experience with property and casualty insurance claim investigations preferred
  • Experience with structural damage assessments and failure analysis preferred
  • Experience with roofing and building envelope evaluations preferred
  • Experience with foundation settlement and retaining wall investigations preferred
  • Experience with water infiltration and moisture-related damage assessments preferred
  • Experience with sinkhole and geotechnical-related structural evaluations preferred
  • Business development or seller-doer experience preferred
