Job Description
Supply Planner managing raw materials and global components for Koozie Group’s promotional products manufacturing. Optimizing inventory, purchase orders, service levels, and international supply across Asia, Mexico, and domestic suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Own the supply plan for direct raw materials, including resin, color concentrate, colorants, and other production inputs
- Convert production schedules and demand forecasts into time-phased material plans
- Place, maintain, expedite, and reschedule purchase orders as requirements change
- Set and maintain lead times, safety stock, min/max levels, reorder points, order multiples, and MOQs
- Balance supplier minimums and bulk-buy economics against excess inventory and cash risk
- Manage excess and obsolete exposure, including aged and slow-moving inventory
- Plan and replenish purchased components across Asia, Mexico, and domestic suppliers
- Manage replenishment cycles including supplier production, transit, customs clearance, and inbound receipt
- Coordinate with overseas offices, freight forwarders, and Logistics on bookings, container utilization, and ETD/ETA management
- Plan for international disruptions and seasonality, including Chinese New Year, peak-season capacity, port congestion, and tariff/trade-policy changes
- Buy to forecast and determine commitment horizons beyond the reliable forecast horizon
- Set safety stock and service-level targets based on demand variability, lead time, and business priority
- Own inventory results including in-stock and fill rate, turns, months of supply, excess and obsolete dollars, and past-due purchase orders
- Support new product development, recommend initial buy quantities, and manage phase-in/phase-out and end-of-life run-out
- Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing, Demand Planning, Logistics, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Customer Service
- Bring supply risks and recommendations to SIOP and leadership
- Maintain accurate dates, planning parameters, and order data in the MRP/planning system
- Manage supplier delivery performance and support supplier scorecards
- Use available tools, including AI, for reporting, exception review, and supplier follow-up
- Provide backup support to other Supply Planners and perform other duties as required
- Reports to the Material Planning Manager
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required — Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of supply planning, material planning, or buyer/planner experience in an MRP/ERP environment
- Experience planning raw materials or components to support a manufacturing schedule — not finished-goods replenishment only
- Experience managing long lead time, internationally sourced supply, including lead times in the 90–150+ day range
- Hands-on working competency in MRP/ERP planning systems; experience with GAINS and Oracle is a plus
- Practical experience with min/max planning, replenishment parameter management, and buying to a forecast
- Working understanding of service level and safety stock
- Experience managing excess and obsolete inventory, and supporting new product launches
- Strong technical skills, including advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, large data sets)
- Candidates should expect a practical skills assessment during the interview process
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Product Management, Marketing, Demand Planning, and Logistics
- Demonstrated success in a fast-paced environment with constant change
- Strong written and verbal communication, a sense of urgency, and accountability for results
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Willingness to travel occasionally to business locations and suppliers
- Preferred: Experience using AI tools in supply chain or planning work
- Preferred: Experience in the promotional products, retail, or consumer products industry
- Preferred: APICS/ASCM certification — CPIM or CSCP
- Preferred: Familiarity with plastics manufacturing inputs: resin grades, color concentrate and masterbatch, and injection molding constraints
- Preferred: Working knowledge of import basics — Incoterms, tariffs and duty, and customs documentation
- Preferred: Experience with Mexico-based suppliers and conversational Spanish
