Job Description
Senior Export Control Expert managing defence export compliance, BAFA licensing, and military supply-chain controls for ALTEN’s global engineering services.
Responsibilities:
- Independently assess national and international export control matters in the defence sector
- Manage BAFA authorisations and licensing processes, ensuring legally compliant implementation
- Support international exports and transfers of military goods within the EU and to third countries
- Review and apply Global Licences, General Licences, and Individual Licences in a practical manner
- Conduct end-user and consignee screenings, taking re-export restrictions and End User Certificates into account
- Further develop Internal Compliance Programmes, conduct audits, and integrate export control requirements into procurement, logistics, and supply chain processes
Requirements:
- University degree in business law, law, business administration, international business, industrial engineering, or a comparable field
- Professional experience in Export Control, Trade Compliance, or export controls
- Experience with German export control regulations
- Extensive experience in the aerospace and defence industry or a comparable military environment
- Demonstrable experience with BAFA, including authorisation and licence management and handling military goods
- Knowledge of international transfer, export, and supply chain processes
- Experience with ICPs, audits, and internal control systems
- Fluent English skills suitable for professional negotiations
- German is an advantage but not essential
