Job Description
System Administrator supporting Bridgeway’s healthcare benefits administration products, corporate systems, and customer hosting environments. Managing identity, endpoints, Linux, Windows, networking, Azure Virtual Desktop, and incident response.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as first point of contact for technical issues and manage the ticket queue to defined response and resolution SLAs
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and account access issues
- Escalate issues to technical teams and follow through to resolution
- Categorize and prioritize incidents; serve as incident commander for internal and customer-facing disruptions
- Coordinate responding teams and communicate with users, customers, and executives through restoration, root-cause analysis, and remediation tracking
- Deploy and maintain end-user devices, peripherals, workstation software, mobile device management, endpoint packaging, and allow-listing
- Administer collaboration and productivity systems including mailboxes, mail groups, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive; manage licenses, renewals, and AI-tool enablement
- Operate corporate networking, cloud and end-user VPN, and customer hosting environments
- Administer Linux servers, including packages, repositories, services, logs, performance, filesystems, storage, SSH keys, and sudo access
- Maintain RD Web gateways and Azure Virtual Desktop, including host pools, session hosts, images, application groups, workspaces, FSLogix profiles, capacity, autoscaling, and user sessions
- Administer Entra ID, on-premises Active Directory, SSO, federated authentication, MFA, and Conditional Access
- Own onboarding/offboarding provisioning, access requests, dormant-account reviews, and audit evidence for SOC 2 and HIPAA
- Administer privileged credentials and vaults and manage service-account and API-key lifecycles
- Execute patching and backup validation, restore testing, restore requests, and backup-failure response
- Track ticket metrics and recommend self-service or automation
- Create and maintain knowledge-base articles, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides
- Communicate with end users in plain language and set clear resolution expectations
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve support processes and first-contact resolution
- Participate in Tier 1 on-call/on-shift rotation
- Write and maintain Bash and PowerShell scripts and scheduled jobs
Requirements:
- 2+ years in IT support or system administration, including hands-on Linux server administration in a production environment alongside Windows server setup, configuration, and maintenance
- Intermediate understanding of networking protocols, VPN and remote connectivity, and security practices
- Experience with virtualization and virtual desktop platforms, including hands-on Azure Virtual Desktop administration
- Ability to perform system backups, restore testing, and disaster recovery procedures against defined playbooks and schedules
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network issues
- Hands-on administration of Entra ID and on-prem Active Directory, including SSO, MFA, and Conditional Access
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 collaboration services and managing SaaS licenses and renewals
- Endpoint management experience, including device deployment, MDM, software packaging, and patching
- Experience working an ITSM ticket queue to defined SLAs, with written communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical users and document them clearly
- Comfort operating in a SOC 2 / HIPAA-regulated environment, executing access reviews and producing audit evidence, and willingness to share a Tier 1 on-call rotation
- Experience using generative AI tools such as Claude and Copilot
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Software Development, or a related field
