Job Description
Solutions Engineer providing technical sales support, presentations, RFP responses, and PoCs for Extreme Networks’ cloud networking customers. Designing solutions and advising customers and channel partners.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technology and product consulting
- Provide technical sales support for account opportunities
- Perform high-level and in-depth technical presentations for customers, prospects, and channel partners
- Support RFI/RFP responses
- Organize and lead Proof of Concept activities
- Design solutions meeting customer requirements
- Participate as a specialist on assigned virtual teams
- Contribute to other team activities
- Travel domestically and internationally as required
Requirements:
- Excellent presentation skills
- Successful pre-sales engineering track record in the industry and territory in a similar position
- Sound knowledge of Layer 2/3 switching
- Knowledge of IPv4/v6 routing concepts
- Knowledge of overlay networking and VPNs
- Knowledge of Wi-Fi operation and design
- Knowledge of network security principles
- Knowledge and practical experience with cloud technologies and cloud-based network management platforms is an advantage
- Knowledge of compute and network virtualization principles is an advantage
- Knowledge of network management and orchestration software is an advantage
- Knowledge of SD-WAN is an advantage
- Knowledge of automation scripting and APIs is an advantage
- Ability to work as part of customer project teams on design and PoC labs
- Ability to set criteria for successful PoCs and contribute to overall solution designs
- Tenacity and perseverance
- Ability to build, develop, and maintain customer and partner relationships as a trusted advisor
- Willingness to assume a team-lead role for the account team when required
- Experience working with partners is a plus
- Major account experience and experience closing deals
- Extreme Networks certifications are desirable but not mandatory
- Recognized industry certifications are a plus
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of future trends and market directions
- Ability to support customer evaluations, demonstrations, and detailed design requirements
- Good general hands-on lab experience is required
