Job Description

Systems Engineer responsible for customer-facing technical solutions at Arista Networks. Collaborating with sales and product teams to deliver innovative networking solutions in the Bay Area.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to our customers, gathering requirements, qualifying opportunities, and designing solutions.
  • Collaborate with Arista Account Managers for an in-depth understanding of enterprise and commercial clients.
  • Conduct architectural designs to develop solutions that improve network performance, efficiency and customer TCO.
  • Conduct product presentations of Arista's networking solutions.
  • Utilize expertise in network design and implementation to create scalable network solutions.
  • Work with customers and proof-of-concept teams to validate network designs and deployments.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to respond to RFP/RFQs and provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering.
  • Author and collaborate on customer-facing content highlighting Arista technology and products.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in L2/L3 networking design and implementation with a focus on Campus and Wi-Fi solutions.
  • Expert-level experience with routing and switching, including .1x and NAC integrations plus POE Overlay technologies experience (such as EVPN/VxLAN) is a plus.
  • Current hands-on experience in designing campus and leaf-spine network architectures.
  • Proven work experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE, or Network Consulting Engineer is preferred.
  • Expert knowledge in Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, .1x and QoS.
  • Good understanding of the competitor technology landscape, specifically Cisco and Juniper.
  • Expert-level knowledge of the industry-standard Command Line Interface (CLI).
  • Previous experience building network automation using Python and Ansible is highly desired.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to create informative white papers on technology and products is highly desired.
