Job Description
Staff Engineer/Technical Architect owning Brahma Studio architecture for Brahma AI’s enterprise media platform. Designing high-volume Python and GCP systems while mentoring engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Own the architectural blueprint and technical standardisation of the Brahma Studio platform
- Establish technical truth through upfront system design, service boundary definitions, and architectural documentation including ADRs and RFCs
- Collaborate with peer architects and broader organization teams to evaluate dependencies, negotiate technical constraints, and align cross-platform features
- Replace expedient workarounds with maintainable design patterns
- Streamline build pipelines and optimize oversized Docker containers
- Lead end-to-end system design, evaluating scalability, data flows, trade-offs, performance limits, stress testing, and resilience before implementation
- Author and maintain technical specifications, RFCs, ADRs, API contracts, and standardized software patterns
- Architect, profile, and optimize distributed, high-throughput data processing pipelines using native GCP services
- Implement observability, logging, and error handling across cloud-native microservices
- Write production-grade Python code for core platform modules and critical frameworks
- Review code and mentor senior engineers in structured architectural thinking
Requirements:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience focused on backend system design and high-volume enterprise data processing
- Proven track record as a system design authority (Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or Architect)
- Experience evaluating complex edge cases before building
- Expert, idiomatic mastery of modern Python, including asyncio, type hinting, performance profiling, and memory management
- Deep experience designing and operating architectures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Strong expertise in multi-stage Docker builds and container optimization
- Working knowledge of Go, including ability to read, write, or integrate Go-based microservices where concurrency demands it
Benefits:
- Remote work within UTC+0 to UTC+3 time zones
