Job Description

Technical Product Owner leading roadmap, Agile delivery, and code quality for CertiPath’s secure digital identity and access management products. Partnering with developers, QA, and stakeholders across U.S. time zones.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Product Management to shape the product roadmap
  • Lead developers and QA analysts in delivering software and products
  • Collaborate with the Director of Products to set product vision
  • Gather and prioritize feature requirements using value-over-cost analysis
  • Present prioritized backlog items and document dependencies for release epics
  • Break down epics into stories with acceptance criteria
  • Lead sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and story refinement sessions
  • Prioritize and manage the Jira backlog, triaging support tickets and preventing bottlenecks
  • Review and approve story and bug tickets
  • Present feature demos to stakeholders and incorporate feedback
  • Participate in .NET (C#) pull request code reviews against acceptance criteria, coding standards, and security requirements
  • Engage in technical design discussions and prioritize technical debt alongside features
  • Champion effective use of AI-assisted development tools, including norms for reviewing AI-generated code
  • Confirm release scope is met for each epic
  • Approve quality test plans and results
  • Create user guide documentation
  • Review test coverage and code quality metrics to validate technical soundness

Requirements:

  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a government clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering, or equivalent hands-on software development experience
  • 6+ years of experience as a Product Owner
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience, or demonstrated ability to read and review production code
  • Experience with Atlassian Agile products, specifically JIRA and Confluence
  • Track record of leading distributed development teams across multiple U.S. time zones
  • Technical background comfortable with code reviews and core software engineering concepts
  • Working proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem sufficient to review pull requests and provide substantive feedback
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows, pull requests, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants or LLM-based tools in a software development workflow
  • Experience with Windows operating systems, including Windows Server
  • Ability to learn new tools and technologies independently
  • Experience leading sprints, stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies
  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred
  • Familiarity with high-assurance identity management software solutions is preferred
  • Experience using technical judgment with significant impact on program success is preferred
  • Experience with system engineering processes is preferred
  • Experience building or shipping AI/LLM-enabled product features is preferred
  • Prior software engineering experience before moving into product roles is preferred
  • Familiarity with secure development practices such as SAST/DAST and dependency scanning is preferred
